Sabo Amstelveen
A Japanese community lounge run by volunteers, located a 10-minute walk from central Amstelveen inside the SAKB/OntmoetingLokaal facility. It also features a canteen serving Japanese food.
In addition to self-organized gatherings such as the Thursday Group and the Handicraft Club, the lounge hosts visiting police services from Amstelveen and serves as a “Otona no manabi-ba lecture” space for adults.”
Sabo Amstelveen is a place where you can always meet someone—offering comfort and connection for life abroad.

Ontmoeting Lokaal
OntmoetingLokaal is a Dutch organization that promotes encounters and connections among diverse people through creative activities, sports, and relaxation.
Based in a former school building that also houses Sabo Amstelveen, OntmoetingLokaal offers spaces such as OdinLokaal, a former gym, and ValkhofLokaal, which features a stage.
JACOP collaborates closely with their international exchange program, Internationaal OntmoetingLokaal, on many activities. Both OdinLokaal and ValkhofLokaal are available for regular rental.
